Recently, a Zomato customer in Bengaluru got an unpleasant surprise when they found a cockroach in their sandwich. The customer, known as NomadicGeek1, shared a photo of the tainted sandwich on Reddit. The picture showed a half-eaten sandwich with a cockroach inside.

The customer posted the photo on the r/bangalore forum with a caption detailing their experience. It quickly gained attention, with over 300 reactions from other users who shared similar stories.

One user emphasized the need for better labelling or filters for cloud kitchens, expressing difficulty in assessing the quality of such establishments. Another user recounted finding cockroaches in soup from a cloud kitchen and biryani from a well-known restaurant, highlighting hygiene concerns.

This incident follows a pattern of hygiene issues in food delivery. Just last month, another Zomato customer in Gurugram discovered a cockroach in their Japanese miso ramen chicken order. Expressing disgust, they took to social media to condemn the lack of quality control.

Similarly, in December of the previous year, a Zomato customer in Bengaluru found a dead cockroach in their chicken fried rice bowl from a local restaurant.

These incidents underscore the importance of hygiene and quality control in food delivery services. Customers expect safe and clean food, and such occurrences raise questions about the standards upheld by restaurants and delivery platforms.
