The Vintage vehicles, including those used in World War II, will be featured at the 21st Pune Auto Expo from April 18 to 21 at Creaticity, Yerawada. Organizers announced this during a press conference at Patrakar Bhavan.

The Expo’s Vintage and Classic pavilion will feature outstanding vehicles from Pune’s history, once owned by notable personalities. Owners will attend the flag-off ceremony, adding a personal touch.

Baljit Singh, a vintage car enthusiast from Pune, expressed excitement about the event. He mentioned iconic motorcycles like the Norton 500 and vintage editions of Volkswagen, crucial during the 1930s-1940s war period, will be showcased. Norton motorcycles were vital to the British Army and were also used by Commonwealth forces.

Moreover, Volkswagen’s Jeep version, another WWII icon, will be displayed. Baljit shared his experience of restoring a Norton 500 gifted to his son, turning it from a decrepit state to a fully functional vehicle.

Baljit plans to enhance the expo’s appeal with additional vintage scooters and cars like Lambretta, Vijay Super, Ambassador 1967, and Maruti 1984. The expo’s theme, ‘EV First… Nation First,’ emphasizes electric vehicles and related infrastructure, according to P N R Rajan, the convener of the Pune Auto Expo.

The four-day exhibition, co-sponsored by the Central Institute of Road Transport (CIRT) and other organizations like Maha Metro and IEEE, promises a diverse display ranging from cars and electric vehicles to auto components and research & development.
