In response to the escalating hooliganism in Pune, Pune Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar has taken decisive action since assuming office. A Criminal Intelligence Unit is to be established within the Crime Branch to closely monitor criminal activities in Pune.

The recent murder of gangster Sharad Mohol has sparked widespread concerns regarding the state of law and order in Pune. In light of this, directives have been issued to police stations’ officers and staff to crack down on notorious gangsters and tackle crime in slum areas.

A notable initiative undertaken by Commissioner Amitesh Kumar is the consecutive two-day parade of criminals, aimed at transforming Pune into a crime-free city and sending a clear warning to lawbreakers. This initiative has significantly boosted the morale of police officers and employees, motivating them to work with greater efficiency.

Furthermore, efforts will be made to monitor the social media accounts of gangsters and ensure that they face appropriate consequences for their actions. With Commissioner Amitesh Kumar’s tenure underway, there is optimism that crime rates in Pune will soon decline, making it a safer city to inhabit.
