Davide Sassudelli Claims First Paragliding World Cup Task Win In Fast-Paced Panchgani Round
Panchgani, February 18, 2026: The third task of the Paragliding World Cup in Panchgani delivered a shift in weather conditions, challenging pilots with stronger southerly winds and a tighter launch window.
Unlike the earlier rounds, competitors had limited time to take off and needed to secure strong positioning ahead of the start. The day’s forecast proved more complex, but the emergence of cloud formations along the route, combined with powerful thermals, allowed for quicker transitions and a noticeably faster race tempo.
Italy’s Davide Sassudelli clinched the task victory, marking his first-ever win in a Paragliding World Cup task. A well-executed and strategically timed flight enabled him to lead on one of the competition’s quickest days so far.
Michael Sigel secured third place in the task, a result that propelled him into the overall lead after three rounds, reflecting his consistent performance since the event began.
In the women’s category, Jun Yomo topped the standings for Task 3.
With rising speeds and evolving weather dynamics, the latest round added fresh intensity to the championship, reinforcing Panchgani’s reputation as a demanding and competitive venue on the Paragliding World Cup circuit.
