Debate on Fan Boundaries: Watch, After Nidhhi Agerwal, Samantha Ruth Prabhu Mobbed By Crowd At Hyderabad Store Launch
The incident at a Jubilee Hills event has reignited concerns over celebrity safety and crowd behaviour.
Days after actress Nidhhi Agerwal was mobbed at a public event in Hyderabad, a similar incident involving Samantha Ruth Prabhu has sparked fresh debate over celebrity safety and the lack of crowd boundaries.
The incident took place on Sunday during the opening of Sirimalle Sarees in Jubilee Hills. As Samantha exited the venue and headed towards her car, she was surrounded by a large group of people, many of whom attempted to push their phones close to her to record videos or take photographs.
A video of the actress leaving the event has since gone viral on social media. The footage shows Samantha attempting to make her way through the crowd while security personnel struggle to keep fans at a distance. At several points, the crowd appears to close in, forcing the actress to slow down as guards attempt to clear a path.
The clip, widely shared and reposted on platforms such as Reddit, has drawn sharp reactions online. Many users questioned why fans repeatedly fail to respect personal space and safety, especially during public appearances.
Many condemned the situation in the comment section.
One user wrote, “That poor lady, you can see the fear in her body language.” Another user wrote, “Why is their management never prepared for these things when they know how common it is?” “It is disgusting how they are grabbing at her saree like that. This cannot be tolerated,” wrote the third user.
Some social media users linked such behaviour to a growing culture of “celebrity worship,” while others pointed out that similar incidents have been reported across different parts of the country, not limited to any one region.
The episode comes close on the heels of another controversial incident involving Nidhhi Agerwal, who was mobbed during the song launch event of her upcoming film The Raja Saab, which stars Prabhas. That incident had also triggered widespread criticism over inadequate crowd control and security arrangements at celebrity events.

While no injuries were reported in Samantha’s case, the repeated nature of such incidents has raised questions about event planning, security preparedness, and the responsibility of organisers to ensure safe environments for public figures.
Neither Samantha nor her team has issued an official statement regarding the incident so far. However, the visuals have once again highlighted the thin line between fan enthusiasm and unsafe behaviour, with many calling for stricter crowd management measures and greater public awareness around respecting personal boundaries.
