Pimpri-Chinchwad, renowned for its industrial prowess, faces a critical need for immediate medical treatment in case of fire accidents. MLA Mahesh Landge has passionately called for the establishment of a burn hospital in the city to address this pressing concern during the ongoing winter session of the State Legislature in Nagpur.

In the aftermath of a devastating fire at a candle company in Jyotibanagar, Talwade, on December 8th, claiming the lives of nine workers, discussions unfolded in the legislative hall regarding the prevention of such incidents and the implementation of remedial measures.

Highlighting the city’s population exceeding 30 lakhs, MLA of Bhosari Constituency Mahesh Landge emphasized the absence of a burn ward or hospital in Pimpri-Chinchwad, despite the presence of the Yashwantrao Chavan Memorial Hospital (YCM). Urging the state government to intervene, Landge called for directives to the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Administration for the construction of a burn hospital or ward.

Acknowledging the gravity of the Talwade fire tragedy, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde promptly announced financial assistance for the affected families. MLA Landge expressed gratitude for this announcement.

“In the aftermath of the Talwade fire disaster, victims had to be transported to Sassoon Hospital in Pune for treatment. With a history of fire incidents in the city, over 130 patients from Pimpri-Chinchwad sought treatment in Pune last year. Despite existing hospitals in the city, the absence of a burn ward facility has prompted calls for the establishment of modern burn hospitals with advanced treatment methods. A statement has been issued to Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, with optimism that the government will make a positive decision on this crucial matter,” said Mahesh Landge, MLA, Bhosari Assembly, BJP, Pimpri-Chinchwad.
