Delhi Man Finds Live Centipede In IRCTC Lounge Meal, Sparks Food Safety Concerns
A recent incident involving a live centipede found in a meal served at the IRCTC VIP Executive Lounge has raised significant concerns about food safety. Aaraynsh Singh, a Delhi resident, discovered the insect floating in his raita and shared the shocking experience on social media. In his post, Singh sarcastically commented that the Indian Railways’ food had “improved,” as it now included “more protein,” referring to the centipede in his meal.
The incident, which occurred last month, sparked outrage on social media, with many users criticizing IRCTC for the lack of hygiene in its food services. Singh also warned other passengers at the lounge, but was surprised when they continued to eat the food despite witnessing the contamination.
IRCTC responded by stating that immediate action had been taken against the service provider responsible and that further inspections are being conducted to prevent future occurrences. The official IRCTC account also asked Singh to provide booking details for further investigation.
