Delhi Police Special Cell Arrests ISIS Terror Suspect Wanted by NIA

In a major development,related to  ‘Pune ISIS module case’ the Special Cell of the Delhi Police has successfully apprehended an alleged Islamic State (IS) terrorist who had been on the wanted list of the National Investigation Agency (NIA). 

The arrested individual has been identified as Shahnawaz, also known as Shafi Uzzama. He was taken into custody by the Delhi Police’s Special Cell shortly after the NIA announced a reward of Rs 3 lakh for his capture.

This operation was initiated by the NIA in pursuit of three ISIS terrorists believed to be at large in Delhi, with one of them being Shahnawaz Safiuzzama Alam, who goes by the alias Abdullah. Officials have stated that these individuals were reportedly linked to the ‘Pune ISIS module case.’

According to officials, this arrest will help to locate other suspected ISIS terrorists. Furthermore, the Special Cell has taken into custody several individuals who are believed to have been in contact with Shahnawaz, potentially uncovering a broader network.

The other two individuals involved have been identified as Rizwan Abdul Haji Ali and Abdulla Faiyaz Shaikh.

Shahnawaz, is an engineer by profession, and  a resident of Delhi. After managing to escape from police custody in Pune, he had been residing in Delhi, maintaining a concealed presence in the city.
