Demand for resurfacing road near Marvel Sangria rises as PMC – Pune traffic police closes NIBM road
On the first day when the Pune Municipal Corporation and Pune traffic police closed entry for vehicles between Sunshree Kangan and Cloud 9, traffic congestion went chaotic for many and saw huge queue of vehicles from Palace Orchards society to Clover Highlands.
Many complained that PMC and Pune traffic police should have first thought of alternate roads which are in usable condition before shutting off the Sunshree Kangan side road.
Puneet Mehta, a resident of Palace Orchards stated that there is bumper to bumper traffic on the road from Palace Orchards to NIBM chowk. My child came home 45 minutes late.”
The road from Marvel Sangria to Urban Space will soon undergo concretisation but till the NIBM road is undergoing road work this road should have been resurfaced by PMC, demanded residents.

Another resident of Supreme Greenwoods stated that our prayer hall is situated at Raheja Premiere chowk and I live opposite to Sunshree Kangan. Now I will have to take a long turn which is equally risky and poor. ”

When Pune Pulse spoke to the Pune Municipal Corporation road department officials he informed that the road work near Marvel Sangria will be taken up tonight. So that motorists won’t face any issue. Also, the road along the hill side will also be levelled using JCB.
Zuber Khan, another resident said, “It’s a horrifying experience to travel from the straight road from D Mart and also the narrow road from Sangria both the roads are equally bad.
The road between Sunshree Kangan and Cloud 9 has been kept closed as PMC is carrying work to reduce the gradient. The work may complete by end May 2023. Residents of the area are advised to pla. their travel accordingly.
Sanjiv Agarwal from Elina Living suggested that if only the internal road alongside Sangria and Royal Palms society is asphalted it will solve a lot of issues. It can be fixed overnight since it is only a 200-300 meter patch. There is a very small patch in front of Royal palm main entrance and in front of OYO hotel which can be done easily.”
