Diljit Dosanjh and his Dil-Luminati tour have been making waves in the news lately. Just a day after a video of him introducing his mother went viral, another touching clip has captured the internet’s attention. This time, it features the Punjabi singer sharing a heartfelt moment with a Pakistani fan during his concert in Manchester, UK.
On Saturday, while on his European tour, Dosanjh surprised a female fan by gifting her a pair of shoes during the concert. The now-viral clip shows the “Lover” singer presenting a shoebox to a fan on stage. Upon learning that the girl is from Pakistan, the Chamkila actor expressed that for him, India and Pakistan are the same.
Diljit emphasized that the borders are drawn by politicians stating, “Whether it’s Hindustan or Pakistan, to me, they are both the same. Punjabis embrace everyone. The borders are a creation of politicians, but for me, they are all the same. I welcome people from both my country and Pakistan.”
The packed audience responded to Diljit’s heartfelt message with loud applause and cheers.
However, the viral video has sparked a variety of reactions online. While some praised the singer for his sentiments, others reminded him of the sacrifices made by Indians during the partition.
After finishing up his UK tour, Diljit Dosanjh is set to return to India for the next part of his tour, which is happening from October to December. He’ll be hitting multiple cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Pune, Jaipur, Hyderabad, Lucknow, Bengaluru, and more.
