Drainage lines in Wakad choked, residents demand immediate cleaning

The drainage lines remained choked in many societies in Wakad. The societies mainly affected were Malpani greens and Dynasty.

On Saturday 25 December, the drainage cleaning work was done in Wakad. Residents of Dynasty society and Malpani society from Wakad raised complaint regarding drainage chamber choking. Local corporator Sandip Kaspate took immediate action and asked the concern department to clean it.

“As we received complain, we informed the officer of garbage department and cleaned the nullah, ” said Corporator Sandeep Kaspate.

“The nullah is cemented. The society people are putting waste in that.Our team is cleaning the drainage line daily. But we request people residing there not to put waste in the nullah, ” said Shashikant More, Health Department, PCMC.

“We raised the complaint as the drainage was full and was stinking. Soon the concerned department officials came and cleaned it. Yet the drainage is not cleaned completely, ” said Shashikant Umbrekar, Dynasty Society.
