PCMC takes action against shopkeepers flouting norms

Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation D ward has taken action against shopkeepers flouting norms and selling plastic bags below 50 microns as well as defacing the area by littering. Action was taken against shopkeepers on Datta mandir road. They were also imposed fines for not keeping dustbins.


The action was taken against 9 shops naming Badshahi Tea, Shriram Vadewale, Kannu Ki Chai, Balaji Traders, Apricot Hotel, Indori Pohewala, Dosti Chinese, Mataji Traders, Baramati Chicken, A.K Chicken Center, and D.F.H Dry Fruits. A total penalty of Rs 16000 / – was levied for keeping filthy conditions on the road. Also, a fine of Rs 180/- per shop, a total Rs 1620/- was also imposed for not having dustbins. In total fine of Rs.17620 / – was recovered.


“PCMC is taking strict action against shopkeepers for defacing the area. And now onwards such action will be taken on all those who are ruining the cleanliness of area. Each one of us must take the responsibility of the area and keep it clean,” said Shashikant More, Health Department Officer, D ward, PCMC.
