Pune : The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has registered a case against 5 accused at Bharati Vidyapeeth police station for defrauding several investors across Maharashtra for Rs 100 crores.     

As per information, from the year 2020, the ED has been searching for the accused and registered a case against them at Bharati Vidyapeeth Police Station.

Speaking to Pune Pulse, Vinayak Gaikwad, Police Inspector, Bharati Vidyapeeth Police Station said, “On October 9 i.e. Monday, the ED registered a case of defrauding at our police station. All the accused are identified as Vinod Khute, Santosh Khute, Mangesh Khute, Kiran Anaarse, Ajinkya Badghe and others. Co-accused Vinod Khute used to stay in the Ambegaon region. They had formed a fake company through which they assured various people across Maharashtra of good returns through Forex trading.”

Gaikwad further said, “They had opened 4 to 5 fake bank accounts where the money was received. However, without giving back the returns to people who invested the money, the accused transferred the said amount overseas through Hawala. Upon suspecting this, the ED registered a case with Bharati Vidyapeeth Police.”

As per further information shared by Vinayak Gaikwad, the ED has been conducting this operation since the year 2020. So far, information of swindling Rs 100 Crores has come to the forefront which could turn out to be more.

As per further information shared by Vinayak Gaikwad, a case has been registered under Sections 420, 471, 34 & 120 (b) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). Further investigation into the matter is underway.

The case has been transferred to the Economic Offences Wing.
