Ek Mutthi Anaj programme held in Pimple saudagar
Over 53 societies participated in the Ek Mutthi Anaj initiative from Pimple Saudagar on Sunday 3 April 2022. The campaign started by four residents of Pimple Saudagar, with the idea that no one around them should sleep on an empty stomach. The food grains collected were distributed to students studying in various educational institutions, residential dormitories and institutions conducting educational activities. Vinod Patil and his colleagues from Sai Marigold, Purva Residency and Ganesh Residency in Pimple Saudagar started this service work on 25 July 2021. Now, over 280 residents have joined the campaign, which has participation of 47 women too.
At present, 14,000 households are contributing to this grain collection. So far twenty thousand kg of collected grain has been distributed to various organizations. Vinod Patil, Vishal Padmawar, Sanjay Rathod, Sandeep Kale, Sandeep Gunjal, Pritam Marawar, Deepak Shinde, Rahul Armarkar, Santosh Sahu etc. are working in this campaign.
This is how the campaign is runs:
· Plastic buckets are kept once a month in each society
· Collection of Sorghum, Wheat, Rice, Pulses etc are collected by the society management committee and participating members
So far, 20,000 kg of grain has been collected and distributed
