Five prominent cricketers, who have also represented Team India, announced their retirement after the conclusion of the Ranji Trophy 2023-24.

These veterans, including Manoj Tiwari, Saurabh Tiwary, Varun Aaron, Dhawal Kulkarni, and Faiz Faisal, decided to bid farewell to the sport, citing various reasons.

Despite strong performances in domestic cricket, their stints with the national team were short-lived due to inconsistency.

Varun Aaron, Manoj Tiwari, and Faiz Faisal chose the same ground where their cricket journeys began to announce their retirements.

Manoj Tiwari’s departure marks the end of his 19-year career with Bengal, culminating in a victory against Bihar. Under his leadership, Bengal played in the Ranji Trophy final.

The retirement of aggressive batsman Saurabh Tiwary and fast bowler Varun Aaron dealt a blow to the Jharkhand team.

Saurabh Tiwary, who played for Jharkhand for 17 years, emphasized the need for young cricketers to explore other opportunities if they are not making headway into the national team or IPL.

Varun Aaron, plagued by injuries, played 66 first-class matches, claiming 173 wickets.

Faiz Fazal, who led Vidarbha to a Ranji Trophy victory in 2018, bid goodbye after 21 years, scoring 9183 runs in first-class cricket.

Dhawal Kulkarni, known for his line and length, retired after a 17-year career with the Mumbai Cricket Team, boasting 281 wickets in 95 first-class matches.

The departure of these seasoned players leaves a void in domestic cricket, and their contributions will be remembered.
