Ensure the smooth supply of water to Baner-Balewadi areas: Guardian Minister

PMC Commissioner Vikram Kumar informed that out of the total length of the 18.94 km water channel planned from Warje Water Treatment Plant (WTP) to Balewadi, work on 16.72 km has been completed. 

The Guardian Minister of Pune Chandrakant Patil ordered the administration to solve the water problem of the residents of Baner and Balewadi. A review meeting was held by the Guardian Minister on Thursday on various issues including water supply. 

In Baner and Balewadi, the water is supplied with 46 MLD pipeline. Patil directed officials to ensure smooth water supply. He also insisted that work in Balewadi Jakatnaka and Pashan Baner link road should be completed. 
PMC Commissioner Vikram Kumar informed that out of the total length of the 18.94 km water channel planned from Warje Water Treatment Plant (WTP) to Balewadi, work on 16.72 km has been completed. The pending work is in progress and it is planned to be completed soon. Also, the old damaged pumps are being replaced and new pipes of increased capacity are being installed and this work will be completed in the next six months, he said. 

Corporator Amol Balwadkar said, “Ten days ago, the water supply was affected in Baner-Balewadi due to an increase in new connections. The 24 by 7 scheme will help to regulate the water supply. After the minister’s direction, water supply has been regulated.”
