The railway flyover at Chinchwad station will be closed for buses and heavy vehicles from next five to six days. As a result, these heavy vehicles will have to take an alternative route via Khandoba Mal, Mahaveer Chowk, and Bhakti-Shakti.

For Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited buses, all types of buses, and heavy vehicles coming to and going from Chinchwadgaon, Kalewadi, Valhekarwadi, Thergaon, and Bhondve Chowk, Bijlinagar Yathikana, the Chinchwad Station Bridge would remain closed.

The move was taken after seeing consistent congestion caused due to heavy vehicles on Chinchwad station bridge. Pimpri Chinchwad municipal corporation had written to the Chinchwad traffic department that the entry of heavy vehicles should be prohibited as it is becoming difficult to control the traffic.

A notice board has been put up on the bridge on behalf of Chinchwad Traffic Department. Bicycles, two-wheelers and four-wheelers are allowed to cross the bridge.

The local authorities have advised all drivers to plan their trips accordingly and allow extra time for potential traffic delays.

” We have been instructed by Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation to stop heavy vehicle access from the bridge. As a result, the bridge currently has such a notice board in place. The entrance for large cars onto the bridge will be shut off from the next five to six days,” said Pradeep Patil, Chinchwad Traffic Department.
