Excise Dept issues notices to 10 popular restaurants & pubs in Pune ; Know more

Pune: Pune, which is a hub for education, is witnessing an increase in the number of criminal activities. The youth is seen to be addicted to drugs on a large scale. The police and administration are trying hard to prevent such things.

Thus, Maharashtra State Excise Department has issued show-cause notices to 10 popular restaurants & pubs in Pune, from December 1 to December 10, where loud parties go on till midnight & various other rules are flouted.

Speaking to Pune Pulse, Yuvraj Shinde, Deputy Superintendent, State Excise Department, Pune said, “This action was taken against 10 restaurants & pubs of Pune for various reasons like restaurants & pubs operating beyond the permissible time, allowing alcohol consumption just outside restaurant premises, illegally playing loud music, neglecting to keep track of liquor licenses, selling alcohol without authorization & more. This action went on for 10 days i.e. from December 1 to December 10.”

As per further information, areas like Koregaon Park, Mundhwa, Bund Garden, Baner, Hinjewadi, Balewadi & many more have a large number of restaurants & pubs. Pubs offer many discounts to attract the youth. These restaurants & pubs tend to often neglect regulations.

Following are the 10 restaurants & pubs against whom action was taken by the State Excise Department:

• Hotel Kaka’s
• Unicorn House
• Narang Venture
• Hotel Metro
• Baller
• Local Gastro Bar
