Pune: Pune’s Guardian Minister Chandrakant Patil inspected the Katraj-Kondhwa road on August 20. He also reviewed the works on the Katraj to Khadi Machine Chowk route. During the inspection, he ordered that the road work should be completed by March 2024.

At this time, Patil directed the District Superintendent of Land Records to appoint an independent enumeration officer to count the land required for the Katraj-Kondhwa road. Instructions were also given to the Chief Engineer of Mahavitaran to provide an independent engineer to immediately relocate the poles and electric wires of the Mahavitaran coming in the road layout.

During Patil’s visit, it was decided that 14 bus stops of ‘PMPML’ are on this road. If these bus stops are withdrawn, space will be available for road construction. Similarly, strips will be placed on the slopes of this road. So, the speed will be limited.

Road work has stalled due to the non-acquisition of land. Installation of directional boards, zebra crossing strips, and ramblers on ramps has been taken up by the road department of the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC).

Pune Municipal Commissioner Vikram Kumar, Additional Commissioner Vikas Dhakane, Deputy Commissioner of Traffic Police Vijay Magar, Dhananjay Deshpande of National Highways Authority of India, Head of PMC Road Department Vijay Kulkarni, Head of PMC Property Department Mahesh Patil, Head of PMC Electricity Department Srinivas Kandul, Ex-MLA Yogesh Tilekar, Ex-Corporator Prakash Kadam, Social Worker Rajabhau Kadam, Special Task Officer Rajendra Muthe etc were present.
