Fake army intelligence officer booked for duping army aspirants

Pune: In a joint operation, Pune city police along with the Military Intelligence Unit have arrested a man who duped many army aspirants for the tune of Rs 12.80 lakh by luring them a job in the army.

As per information, the accused has been identified as Ranjeet Kumar Rajendra Singh who hails from Coimbatore in Tamilnadu. The accused duped at least 14 army exam aspirants by convincing them that he had good relations with top army officials and that he would help them get a job in the army.

Speaking about the issue, the complainant, Dhondiba Raghu Mote said the accused lured them to get a desired post in the Army unit in Secunderabad. The accused used his fake army identity card to convince the victims. Since February till date, the victims have paid a total of 12,80,000 to the accused to get a job. 

Ajay Shitole, Police sub-inspector said, “Accused gave them fake appointment letters and duped at least 14 army job aspirants from various parts of Maharashtra. We have taken him into custody and further interrogation is going on.”
