Famous Tourist Spots In Maharashtra to Remain Closed till August 30. Check For Details.

Due to the rise in the cases of untoward incidents & loss of life, several popular tourist hotspots will remain closed till 30th August 2023. Some of the popular sites such as Malshej Ghat, Kasara Ghat, Malshej waterfalls, Harishchandragad, Nane Ghat, are some of the are most frequented tourist spots in Maharashtra which will remain closed for tourists due to heavy rainfall and fear of landslides. 

As per information, under Section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 and Section 34 of The Disaster Management Act 2005, the following tourist places of Thane district would remain closed till 30th August to avoid any untoward incident:

Prohibitory orders are being imposed till 30th August 2023 within a radius of 1 km around the places for the following matters:

1. Entering, wading deep and swimming in fast-flowing water caused by rain.

2. Going to a waterfall or sitting under a stream of water.

3. Places made dangerous by rain, waterfalls, cliffs, dangerous bends etc. Taking selfies on location and filming any format.

4. Entering the premises of a natural waterfall created by rain and being intoxicated, possessing liquor, transporting liquor, unauthorized sale of liquor and consumption of liquor in the open.

5. During the period after 6.00 pm to 6.00 am, entering waterfalls or ponds or water at dams or other areas.

6. Stopping vehicles on traffic roads and dangerous turns and places.

7. Driving the vehicle at excessive speed or at a speed that obstructs the traffic.

8. Driving recklessly and overtaking other vehicles in a  dangerous manner.

9. Food, garbage in public places. Throwing glass and plastic bottles and thermocol and plastic materials in the open and elsewhere.

10. Harassment of women in public, teasing, rude behaviour towards women, making indecent obscene gestures or engaging in any behaviour that would cause embarrassment.

11. Playing loud music systems in public places, playing DJ systems, playing speakers/woofers in cars and thereby causing noise pollution.

12. Doing any act which will cause noise, air and water pollution.

13. All two-wheelers, four-wheelers and six-wheelers are prohibited from entering within 1 km of the falls (Excluding vehicles for essential services.)
