So, approximately 1,200 new meters are available to replace the faulty and burnt meters. Additionally, 1392 customers have paid the quotation for a three-phase electricity connection, compared to which 1750 electricity meters are available.

As a result, the process of commissioning new electricity connections in places where the quotation amount is paid (paid pending) and infrastructure is in place has been speeded up. Appropriate planning has been started in Pune Circle regarding the availability of new electricity meters since last January. In this, the availability of electricity meters is being reviewed section-wise along with new electricity connections twice every week. Accordingly, new electricity meters are being provided to the concerned offices as required.

Along with providing new electricity connections, action for irreparable or burnt meters has also been ordered by Chief Engineer Rajendra Pawar. After section-wise review, the new meters are being made available in sufficient numbers and immediately in those sections where faulty meters are to be replaced along with new electricity connections.

If a new meter is not available for a new electricity connection or for the replacement of a burnt and faulty meter, consumers should directly contact the executive engineer of the concerned department of MSEDCL. It has also clarified that electricity consumers do not need to purchase meters from the market as a sufficient quantity of electricity meters are available.
