Pune, 21 December 2023: The Foundation for Advancing Science & Technology (FAST India) is excited to announce the India Science Festival (ISF) 2024, set to be hosted at the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER), Pune on January 20th and 21st, 2024.

FAST India, a non-profit organization co-founded by Ashish Dhawan (Founder, The Convergence Foundation) and Varun Aggarwal (Founder, Aspiring Minds and The Change Engine), has a resolute mission to propel the frontiers of Science and Technology across India.

In its pursuit of scientific advancement, FAST India has previously aligned with influential bodies such as the Office of the Principal Scientific Advisor (PSA), Capacity Building Commission (CBC), Banaras Hindu University (BHU), and IIT Kanpur.

One of its most celebrated initiatives, the India Science Festival, stands as India’s premier non-governmental platform that celebrates the essence of science. It is worth noting that the inaugural ISF 2020 was hosted at IISER Pune, bringing this collaboration full circle.

The remarkable success of ISF 2023 in Hyderabad, which drew over 18,000 attendees, vividly demonstrates India’s growing reverence for science and technology.

ISF 2024 will host over 40 expert talks and panel discussions on important science and technology topics, featuring global eminent personalities such as Takashi Ikegami (University of Tokyo), Samir Mitragotri (Harvard University), Alan Harvey (University of Western Australia), Sampriti Bhattacharya (Founder, Navier), and Sudip Parikh (CEO, AAAS), to name a few.

The forum will also showcase multiple science-related exhibits and workshops. Exhibits like Drone Interceptors, Autonomous Vehicles, DNA Isolation, Brain-Computer Interfaces, and Bionics will engage participants of all ages.

Varun Aggarwal, Co-Founder of FAST India, noted, “Our partnership with IISER Pune solidifies our dedication to India’s Science and Technology ecosystem. The India Science Festival holds immense potential, and we’re enthusiastic about harnessing it with IISER Pune by our side.”

Prof. K. VijayRaghavan, former Principal Scientific Advisor to the Government of India and advisory board member of FAST India, added, “This collaborative effort between FAST India and IISER Pune represents a significant milestone in India’s Science and Technology evolution, promising to enlighten, educate, and connect the science and technology community with the wonders of science.”
