Fatal Collision: Speeding Tempo Crashes into Stationary MSRTC Bus, Resulting in Driver’s Death

PUNE: Tragedy struck on the Pune-Nashik highway as a speeding tempo rammed into a stationary MSRTC bus, leading to a fatal outcome for the bus driver. The incident occurred at 19th Mile Nandurkhandarmal in Sangamner Taluka, on the Pune-Nashik Highway, at 3:55 a.m. on Saturday, while the bus driver was attending to a punctured tire using a jack.

The deceased has been identified as Mayur Ananda Mundhe (45), hailing from Nashik. The accident transpired within the jurisdiction of Ghargaon police station in Sangamner taluka. Bus conductor Sandip Namdev Khode, also from Nashik District, lodged a formal complaint at the Ale Phata police station, Pune District.

The ill-fated MSRTC bus (MH20BL 4094) faced a collision with a speeding Eicher Tempo (HR 47 E4078), en route from Nashik to Pune. While in the process of repairing the punctured tire, driver Mundhe suffered severe injuries due to the impact. Conductor Khode promptly informed Arun Shelar, the driver of the Navapur-Pune bus, about the unfortunate incident.

Mundhe was swiftly transported to Mauli Hospital in Ale Phata, with Shelar arriving on the scene. Tragically, Mundhe was pronounced dead by a medical professional at the hospital.
