FDA seizes banned tobacco products from Kondhwa
Food and Drugs Administration Pune recently seized banned tobacco products worth Rs 50,000 from various pan, vegetable shops in Kondhwa, Dhankawadi and Chinchwad gaon. M/s Natraj Paan dukan, Bhaji market, Hadapsar; Sharan Belure, Thergaon; Bhagwan Baba Paan dukan, Kondhwa Budruk and Priya Pan stall, Chinchwad station were raided by FDA and products worth Rs 41,000 were seized. Ganeesh Paan stall, Dhankawadi and New Jaynath Paan dukan, Ambegaon were raided where products worth Rs 9,000 were seized. Cases have been registered in various police stations in these areas while two people have been arrested.
“The citizens can complain about the shops selling banned tobacco products to the FDA department on the tollfree number 1800222365,” informed Sanjay Nargude, joint commissioner, FDA, Pune.
