On 11th November (Saturday), a massive fire broke out in a flat of Konark Orchid society on Wagholi – Kesnand Road.

Speaking to Pune Pulse, Vijay Mahajan, PMRDA Fire Officer, said “We got information about the fire incident at around 11:25 am. The fire broke out inside a flat of the Konark Orchid society in Wagholi which was on 12th floor. The flat was closed. The fire was very huge and the wooden work was completely destroyed. Due to the flat being closed, no one realized about the fire. When the window glass & more started breaking, people started realizing that something wrong is there. As the flat was on 12th floor, the fire did not spread anywhere else.”

As per further information shared by Vijay Mahajan, the fire officers provided water supply directly to the suction inlet of the society for dousing the fire as taking a hose to the 12th floor would have taken a lot of time. It took around 45 minutes to extinguish the entire fire.

No casualties or injuries took place as all the flat residents had gone out.

There were a total of 2 fire vehicles & 8 fire officers of PMRDA involved in the entire operation.
