Passengers traveling through Pune Airport can look forward to a significant upgrade in services with the introduction of new lounges at the upcoming terminal building. According to Santosh Dhoke, the Director of Pune Airport, the new terminal building is set to feature three spacious lounges for domestic travelers and two lounges specifically designated for international flyers.

The decision to introduce multiple lounges comes in response to complaints about the limited lounge facilities at the current terminal building. The new building, expected to commence operations in April pending formal approval from regulatory authorities, aims to address these concerns while offering enhanced amenities.

Constructed at a cost of Rs 475 crore, the new terminal building will substantially increase the airport’s capacity to handle passengers and improve service quality. Passengers can expect improved food and beverage outlets, expanded restroom facilities, additional baggage reclaim belts, passenger lifts, and escalators.

One of the notable enhancements will be the introduction of 12-15 new food outlets, including international chains, within the 831.1 square meter cumulative area of the terminal building.
