In a recent development concerning the Maval Lok Sabha Election 2024, three candidates have been served notices by the Electoral Returning Officer, Deepak Singla. The notices were issued due to discrepancies and non-compliance with election expenditure regulations .

Electoral Returning Officer Deepak Singla has flagged issues with the daily expenses of one candidate during the election expense checks. Additionally, two candidates, Yashwant Vithal Pawar and Rahim Mainudin Syed, failed to provide details of their daily expenses during the second inspection. As per the rules, candidates or their representatives are required to submit election expenditure registers and certificates for verification within the specified timeframe.
All candidates were informed to appear for examination on 7th May at the Election Expenditure Control Room, Maval Lok Sabha Constituency. However, notices were issued to the aforementioned candidates for their non-compliance.

Failure to submit the expenditure details within the stipulated time could result in legal consequences under Section 77 of the Representation of the People Act, 1951.
The examination of accounts was conducted in the presence of Election Expenditure Inspector Sudhanshu Rai, supervised by Election Expenditure Inspection Head Ashwini Musale and Assistant Savita Nalavde.
Candidates have been given 48 hours to submit the required disclosures. Failure to comply may lead to the cancellation of permissions granted for vehicles, meetings, etc., under Section 171 (1) of the IPC.
Furthermore, candidate Suhas Manohar Rane received a notice regarding discrepancies in his election expenditure. It was noted that expenses were made from his personal bank account instead of a separate account designated for election expenses, contravening Election Commission instructions.
The notice requires Rane to submit the unpaid election expenses within 48 hours to the control room
