In Kohinoor Grandeur, Kiwale, located in the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation jurisdiction area, a prolonged power outage lasting over 26 hours has caused substantial inconvenience to residents. The power disruption began around 3:00 PM on July 25 and continued until 7:00 PM on July 26. The outage affected the entire area, including street lights, residential buildings, and all other electrical systems.

A resident, Apekshit Tatu, complained with the Maharashtra State Electricity Board (MSEDCL) at approximately 6:30 AM on July 26. Initially, MSEDCL assured that technicians were addressing the issue and that power would be restored within two hours. However, this timeline was later extended to noon. The society management, in an effort to address the inconvenience, continuously followed up with MSEDCL.

Power was briefly restored around 4:00 PM but was cut off again within an hour. This intermittent disruption continued until 7:00 PM when stable electricity was finally reinstated.

Apekshit Tatu commented, “For almost 26 hours, the entire Kiwale and Mukai areas were without electricity. The authorities informed us that the disruption was due to issues in the electric network caused by heavy rains. They did not specify the exact location of the problem but mentioned issues at the Nigdi and Dehu substations.”

Tatu further noted, “We were without power for 25 hours, and by that time, our inverter backup had been exhausted. Thankfully, one lift remained operational, but the office day was completely lost due to the lack of Wi-Fi and lighting, which severely impacted work. Fortunately, students had a holiday. Had there been a medical emergency, it could have led to a major problem, as only one lift was functioning in a 17-floor building.”
