Esteemed Educator Dr. Anwar Shaikh Sets Sights on Lok Sabha: A Vision for Education-Led Governance

Dr. Anwar Shaikh, a distinguished educationist and leader, is contesting in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. With over 31 years of experience in education, research and leadership, Dr. Shaikh is well-regarded as the Principal of Poona College of Arts, Science, and Commerce, and formerly as the Director of Poona Institute of Management Science and Entrepreneurship. His extensive academic career is underpinned by degrees in M.Com, MBA, and a Ph.D. in Business Administration.

Dr. Shaikh’s role in academia includes significant contributions as a Senate Member at the Savitribai Phule Pune University, appointed by the Governor of Maharashtra. He has also guided 35 Ph.D. students and 16 M.Phil. students to completion, earning accolades for his thesis in Human Resource Management, which was recognized as the best in Cooperative Management.

His leadership extends beyond education into social entrepreneurship, where he has founded and developed various organizations. Dr. Shaikh’s national and international impact is further highlighted by his receipt of prestigious awards, including the National Youth Award, Prof. G. B. Kulkarni Award for Best Teacher in Commerce and lifetime achievement awards by various organizations in India and abroad.
