Forest festival held in Mohamadwadi

Under the Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav initiative, the Central Government has taken up the program of creating Nagar Van Udyan (Urban Forests). In Pune, the  forest division recently held a mega tree plantation drive at Mohamadwadi forest in Survey no. 71, 72 and Hadapsar survey no. 108 and 109. Inauguration of Forest garden was held during the program too at the hands of N R Praveen (IFS), chief conservator of forests, deputy conservator of forests Rahul Patil (IFS).

The program also saw attendance of Kalinda Punde, former corporator, Wanawadi, 100 students of Bishop’s School Undri, Sumati Shah Ayurved Mahavidyalaya, 50 students from Hadapsar, Anandvan Foundation, Green Nandanvan. The attendees participated in the Hariyali Mahotsav and planted over 850 saplings. 

The program saw presence of Ashutosh Shendge, assistant conservator of forests, Mukesh Sanas, range forest officer, Vishal Yadav, Mangesh Sapkale, Seema Magar, Manoj Parkhe.
