Kolhapur, Sindhudurg, October 24 : Bharatiya Janata party (BJP) leader and former MP from Ratnagiri lok sabha constituency, Nilesh Rane on Tuesday announced that he was retiring permanently from active politics.

In a tweet today on Dasara festival day Mr Rane, a son of union minister Narayan Rane, said, “I am permanently stepping aside from active politics as now there is no interest in politics, there is no other reason. You all have given me so much love in the last 19/20 years. I am very grateful to you for staying with me. Met a lot of love in BJP and got an opportunity to work in a great organization like BJP. I am very lucky about that”.

Rane continued in his tweet said “I am a small man but I have learned a lot in politics and some colleagues have become family forever, I will always be indebted to them in life. I am no longer interested in contesting elections etc. Critics will criticise but I don’t like wasting my time and others too. I apologize If I may have hurt some people without realising it”.

Mr Rane had criticised Nationalist Congress party chief Sharad Pawar for comparing him with Aurangzeb and came in trouble .
