Four Arrested For Theft At Alan Walker Concert In Pune, 36 Phones SeizedÂ
The Pune city police have arrested four individuals for allegedly stealing 36 cell phones from attendees at international DJ and music producer Alan Walker’s concert in Kharadi on Friday. The accused were identified as Sayyad Mohammad Idris Shaikh (21), Lokesh Hanumant Pujari (31), Pappu Bhagirath Vaishya (34) from Mumbai, and Akhil Vyanketramana Godavari (24) from Hyderabad.
According to the FIR registered at Chandan Nagar police station, the complainant, a 20-year-old Katraj resident, reported his phone stolen during the concert, which took place between 7 pm and 10 pm. The accused allegedly took advantage of the large crowd to steal phones from unsuspecting attendees.
A police team deployed at the event swiftly swung into action, apprehending the accused and recovering 36 cell phones worth Rs 4.87 lakh. Senior Police Inspector Sanjay Chavan stated, “Our team recovered the stolen phones and the accused have been remanded in police custody for three days for further investigation.”
The accused have been booked under section 303(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya sanhita. The swift action by the Pune police has sent a strong message against pickpocketing and theft at public events.
The arrests and recoveries were made possible due to the proactive presence of police personnel at the concert. The police are continuing their investigation to ensure that such incidents are prevented in the future.
