Ravindra Dhangekar Booked For Alleged Violation Of Election Code In Pune
In a recent development in Pune, former Congress MLA Ravindra Dhangekar has been booked for allegedly violating the model code of conduct. The incident came to light after Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers intercepted a vehicle late Sunday night, reportedly carrying Diwali faral packets featuring Dhangekar’s image.
BJP workers claimed that the distribution of these festive packets was intended to influence voters, which would constitute a breach of election regulations. Following their complaint, the Samarth police registered a case against Dhangekar for allegedly offering inducements ahead of elections.
The police confirmed receiving the complaint and are investigating the matter under sections related to the violation of the model code of conduct.
