Pune: A series of tragic road accidents in Pune claimed the lives of four individuals over the past two days. The accidents occurred at different locations, including Phadke Chowk in Sadashiv Peth, the Padmavati area on Pune-Satara Road, the Mumbai-Bengaluru bypass, and Nagar Road in Wagholi.
Motorcyclist Killed in Tempo Collision on Pune-Satara Road
In the Padmavati area, a motorcycle rider, Vijay Relekar, lost his life after colliding with a speeding tempo near the Swami Vivekananda statue late Wednesday night. The tempo driver fled the scene, and a complaint has been registered by the victim’s brother, Ganesh Relekar, at Sahakar Nagar police station. Police Sub-Inspector Fakir is investigating the case.
Senior Citizen Dies in Car Crash at Phadke Chowk
At Phadke Chowk, Roopchand Sadashiv Ghone (80), a resident of Parvati, was fatally injured when a speeding car struck his motorcycle on Wednesday night. Despite being rushed to a private hospital, he succumbed to his injuries before receiving treatment. His son, Chandrashekhar Ghone (50), has filed a complaint at Parvati police station. The car driver fled the scene, and the investigation is being handled by Police Sub-Inspector Ismail Sheikh.
Young Motorcyclist Dies in Crash on Mumbai-Bengaluru Bypass
A tragic accident on the Mumbai-Bengaluru bypass, near the Wadgaon flyover, led to the death of Shubham Shukla (36), a resident of Baner-Sus Road. His motorcycle crashed into a privately parked bus in the dark early Thursday morning. A case has been registered against bus driver Digambar Balasaheb Shinde (32) for negligent parking. The investigation is being conducted by Police Sub-Inspector Sagar Pawar, with a complaint lodged at Sinhagad Road police station.
Pedestrian Fatally Hit by Vehicle in Wagholi
In another tragic incident, Vitthal Balaji Jamdade (46), a resident of Wagholi, was killed in a vehicle collision on Nagar Road. His wife, Seema Jamdade (32), has lodged a complaint at Wagholi police station, and Police Sub-Inspector Manoj Bagal is investigating the case.
Authorities have urged motorists to drive cautiously and follow traffic regulations to prevent further accidents. Investigations into all four incidents are ongoing.
