From Water Crisis to Traffic Chaos, Ajit Pawar Flags Pune’s Core Issues as Amol Balwadkar’s Fiery Speech Sparks the Campaign in Ward 9
Baner, Pune: The Nationalist Congress Party’s Victory Resolution Meet held in Ward No. 9 witnessed an overwhelming turnout of party workers, women, youth and senior citizens. The atmosphere at the rally was charged with enthusiasm, with Amol Ratan Balwadkar’s emotional and hard-hitting speech leaving a strong impact on the gathering.
Addressing the crowd, Amol Balwadkar strongly condemned what he termed as injustice done to grassroots workers who have dedicated the last eleven years of their lives, energy and resources to party building and social service. He said denying candidature at the last moment was an attempt to politically eliminate an ordinary worker. Sharing his personal struggle, Balwadkar spoke about the mental turmoil he faced, questioning how he would return home and what he would tell his parents after the decision. Balwadkar said the situation changed dramatically after a phone call from Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar. “Ajit Pawar openly acknowledged that injustice had been done to me and called me for discussions. That one meeting gave me a political rebirth,” he said. He described the situation as a battle of workers versus leaders and asserted that leadership which firmly stands with workers still exists in Maharashtra, naming Ajit Pawar as that leader.
In his address, Ajit Pawar launched a sharp attack on the functioning of the Pune Municipal Corporation. He said citizens are suffering due to traffic congestion, incomplete roads, potholes, poor waste management, irregular water supply and rising pollution levels. Pawar stressed that healthcare and education are basic rights of every citizen and can only be ensured through capable and accountable administration.

Praising the candidates from Ward No. 9, Ajit Pawar said Gayatri Mohan Medhe, Baburao Dattoba Chandere, Parvati Ajay Nimhan and Amol Ratan Balwadkar have consistently worked on social, civic and development-related issues in the area. “Their work is visible to the people. If real change is desired, these candidates must be given an opportunity,” he appealed. The Victory Resolution Meet clearly reflected the growing strength of the Nationalist Congress Party in Ward No. 9. A renewed sense of energy was seen among party workers, who collectively resolved to secure a decisive victory for the party by a large margin in the upcoming elections by voting for the clock symbol.
