Gang of 13 burglars arrested in Pune, valuables worth Rs 1 cr seized

Pune, Oct 30 , The Local Crime Branch has arrested a 13-member gang of notorious criminals for allegedly committing robberies and burglaries in the city and its surrounding areas and recovered valuables and other goods worth Rs 1.22 crore from them.
Informing about their arrest in a press conference here on Sunday, additional commissioner of police Ram Nath Pokle said that they have arrested one Ajay Singh Arjun Singh Dudhani (23) along with 12 other members.
However, their other five accomplices are still at large, and a search operation was on to nab them, police said.
Police have seized three pistols and 14 live cartridges from accused.
Police have also seized 1.5 kg of gold jewellery, one kilo of silver, six cars and four two-wheelers from them.
One Tilak Singh Tak is the leader of the gang and 37 cases have been registered against him.
Following the gang’s arrest, police claimed to have detected maximum number of 173 cases of house burglary simultaneously for first time.
