Garbage dumping areas turned into vertical gardens

A team from Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation and team Basics, have taken up the initiative of beautifying the city by turning garbage dumping areas into vertical gardens. Umakant Gaikwad, assistant Commissioner, PCMC said, “We have beautified two garbage vulnerable points in Pimple Saudagar alongwith Team Basics.”

At most of the places, the team has created vertical gardens.
The team has placed attractive flower pots and informative message boards to keep the place neat and tidy. The message board gives information about the importance of garbage decomposition in garbage trucks instead of throwing it on the roads.

The Garbage dumping places near Vishwa Shanti colony, Sayali Park and area in front of SNBP school have been turned into vertical gardens.
“We educated people on how decomposing garbage in proper way helps to keep environment clean. The garbage should not be thrown on road and it should be put in garbage collecting vehicle. Segration of garbage is must,” said Devidas Bhise, social worker who was present on the occasion.

“We have also placed attractive lights and benches to sit. It makes the place more beautiful and people are seen also clicking selfies,” added Bhise.

Officer from ward D Umakant Gaikwad, Additional health officer Mahesh Adhav along with health officers Pranay Chavan and Rohit Chandel were present.
