PMC approves Rs 200 crores for road development

Pune Municipal Corporation has approved Rs 200 crores for development of four roads in Lohegaon, Wagholi and Mohamadwadi.
Out of these, two roads are from Mohamadwadi with survey numbers of 26, 27 and 37 (24 meter wide) and culvert and Survey No 38,40,41,55 and 56. It is a 30-meter-wide-road worth Rs 22 crores.

Other two roads are in Lohegaon and Wagholi. This project is to decongest the roads from increasing traffic. The funds of over Rs 178 crores have been sanctioned by the PMC commissioner recently.

Pune Pulse has been consistently raising the issue of pathetic road conditions in these areas, along with the residents and members of NIBM Undri Road Residents Forum, former corporator Nanda Lonkar and Hadapsar MLA Chetan Tupe.

Speaking to Pune Pulse, Tupe said that continuous follow-up with PMC for road work has brought this good news. “I am sure residents will be very happy now. I am hoping the problem is resolved soon and we get better roads in the near future.” He said.

Nanda Lonkar said, “It was due to the consistent follow up with the civic officials that the road work was approved by the civic authorities.”
