The Pune city Police, Pune rural police as well as Pimpri Chinchwad police took additional measures to ensure that the procession passed off peacefully.

The police department is working round-the-clock for the welfare of the society and public needs to appreciate them for the efforts taken. The festivals of Ganeshotsav and Wari require the police force to be on their toes and work very hard to ensure its smooth conduct. This year, for the first time in two years, millions of devotees took part in the annual Palkhi ceremony. The Pune city Police, Pune rural police as well as Pimpri Chinchwad police took additional measures to ensure that the procession passed off peacefully.

Pune city police chief Amitabh Gupta andJoint Commissioner of Police Sandeep Karnik took care of the arrangements for the palanquin ceremony and worked closely on the traffic arrangements. They inspected the palanquin route and made suggestions for improvement. Meanwhile, around 12 noon on Thursday, Commissioner of Police Amitabh Gupta, his wife Jugnu Gupta, father Dr. Badriprasad Gupta along with his other family members visited the palanquin of Saint Dnyaneshwar Maharaj at Bhavani Peth.

He also served Mahaprasada with his family to Warakaris at the nearby Shri Swami Samarth Math as well as and ate the meal with them.Gupta also visited the palanquin of Saint Tukaram Maharaj at night and partook Mahaprasad.
