Waste collection drive held in PCMC during Wari

Members of Pinchi Group, a women based group formed in Pimpri Chinchwad recently held a waste collection drive and picked up waste bottles after the Wari crossed Bhakti Shakti and Ambedkar chowk. 
“Women play an important role in the society as they serve as a role model for many,” believes Poonam Pardeshi, founder of Pinchi Group which is formed with an intention to empower women. She and her able team Rekha Kalbhor, Anjali Bhagat and Reema Pardeshi alongwith 83 women participated in the plastic waste collection drive to clean the city in wari under the hashtag #wariwithsmartnaari. 

They collected garbage at source from bhakti Shakti to Ambedkar chowk. 78 sacks full of garbage specially plastic bottles were picked up and handed over to PCMC’s employees. 

As vigilant citizens we should maintain our city and surroundings clean is the message they spread out in #wariwithsmartnari intiative. This was done in collaboration with PCMC office supported and approved by PCMC commissioner Rajesh Patil.
