Maharashtra is set to experience a significant heatwave as temperatures begin rising steadily across the state, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned. According to the weather advisory, hot and dry conditions will prevail on March 3 (Dhulivandan), with the maximum temperature expected to rise by 3 to 4°C in several regions.
The weather department has cautioned that temperatures will continue to climb in the coming days, urging citizens to take necessary precautions against heat-related illnesses, dehydration, and heat exhaustion.
Konkan Region: Hot and Humid Conditions
The coastal belt, including Mumbai, Thane, Raigad, Ratnagiri, and Sindhudurg, will witness hot and humid weather.
- Mumbai temperature forecast:
- Maximum: 29–32°C
- Minimum: 24–26°C
- High humidity levels will intensify discomfort and heat stress.
Western Maharashtra: Dry and Hot Spell
Cities including Pune, Satara, Sangli, and Kolhapur will face dry and hot conditions.

- Maximum: 31–34°C
- Minimum: 16–19°C
North Maharashtra: Rising Heat Levels
Districts such as Nashik, Dhule, Jalgaon, and Nandurbar will see a noticeable rise in temperatures.

- Day temperature: 34–35°C
- Night temperature: 18–21°C
Marathwada Region: Hot and Dry Weather
Regions including Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Jalna, Beed, Latur, Nanded, Parbhani, and Dharashiv will continue to face hot and dry conditions.

- Maximum: 33–36°C
- Minimum: 19–22°C
Vidarbha to Face the Highest Heat Levels
The Vidarbha region is expected to experience the most intense heatwave conditions, especially in Nagpur, Amravati, Akola, Washim, Yavatmal, Chandrapur, Gadchiroli, and Buldhana.

- Minimum: 20–23°C
