A severe heat spell continues to grip Maharashtra, with temperatures steadily rising across several regions. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast hot and humid weather across the state on March 11 and issued a yellow alert for five districts, warning residents to take precautions as the heat is expected to intensify further on Wednesday.

In the Konkan region, including MumbaiThaneRaigadRatnagiri, and Sindhudurg, hot and humid weather is likely to persist. The IMD has issued a yellow alert for Mumbai, Thane, Raigad and Palghar due to rising temperatures and high humidity levels that may increase discomfort. Day temperatures in Mumbai are expected to range between 34°C and 38°C, while minimum temperatures may remain between 23°C and 26°C.

In Western Maharashtra, including PuneSataraSangliKolhapur, and Solapur, the weather is expected to remain hot and dry. Pune is likely to record maximum temperatures between 35°C and 38°C, with minimum temperatures ranging from 18°C to 21°C.

In North Maharashtra, districts such as NashikDhuleJalgaon, and Nandurbar will also witness a rise in temperatures. Nashik is expected to record daytime temperatures between 34°C and 37°C, while minimum temperatures may range between 19°C and 22°C.

The Marathwada region, including Chhatrapati SambhajinagarJalnaBeedLaturNandedParbhani, and Dharashiv, is likely to experience hot and dry weather, with maximum temperatures reaching 35°C to 39°C.

Meanwhile, Vidarbha is expected to witness the highest temperatures in the state. Cities such as NagpurAmravatiAkolaWashimYavatmalChandrapurGadchiroli, and Buldhana may see temperatures ranging between 36°C and 40°C. A yellow alert has also been issued for Akola due to persistent high temperatures.

Overall, the state is expected to experience intense summer conditions on March 11, with the heat likely to cause discomfort in several regions.
