Heavy Traffic on Mumbai-Pune Expressway as Long Weekend Rush Begins
Pune , 14th August: Commuters travelling from Pune towards Mumbai on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway faced heavy traffic on Thursday morning, particularly between Lonavala and Khandala. Motorists reported being stuck at the same spot for over 15 minutes, with navigation apps showing another 30 minutes of congestion ahead.
The traffic build-up comes just a day before the extended long weekend, which includes holidays for Independence Day and Janmashtami on Friday and Saturday, followed by Sunday. Many travellers are expected to head towards popular destinations, significantly increasing the rush on the route.
