Hello Forest, dial 1926 to raise complaints in forest areas

Pune is surrounded by hills which has many reserved forests. Citizens do not find the right connect to raise the issues such as encroachments, wild fire, miscreants causing harm to the forest department. But to resolve this issue, Forest department has its own helpline number where the citizens can raise their complaints for timely action. 
Hello Forest 1926 – has received great response from the local citizens since its launch.

Forest Pune Division is taking prompt action in resolving the complaints. Citizens can raise complaints regarding  illegal tree cutting, forest fire,  encroachments and related issues on the helpline. 

Working of Hello Forest Helpline : 
The complaints received on Hello Forest are diverted to mobile numbers of forest officers by the call center through a message.
Pune forest division received 128 calls in the year 2021. That includes maximum calls for forest fires in the forest and minimum calls for illegal tree cutting.
“This helpline has benefitted both,  citizens and forest department in taking timely action. Now citizens are more aware of their surroundings,” said Rahul Patil.
