In a groundbreaking first, Captain Supreetha CT and Major Jerry Blaize, a married couple serving in the Army, marched together down the Kartavya Path during the Republic Day parade. Hailing from different contingents, the couple expressed their pride and gratitude for the unique opportunity.

The couple, married in June 2023, shared that their joint participation in the parade was an unplanned but joyous coincidence. Both having been part of the National Cadet Corps (NCC) during college, the opportunity to march together holds special significance for them.

Captain Supreetha, a Law graduate from JSS Law College in Mysore, Karnataka, and Major Blaize, a graduate from Jain University, Bengaluru, currently reside in Delhi. Despite belonging to different regiments and practicing separately, the couple sees the Republic Day parade as a rare chance to spend meaningful time together in New Delhi.

Major Blaize highlighted that their involvement in NCC Republic Day parades in the past inspired him to lead his regiment in the Republic Day 2024 parade.

Both were excited about their families attending the parade to witness this historic moment.
