Huge traffic on Pune Bengaluru Highway near Khambatki Ghat; Several vehicles shutdown due to engine breakdown

There have been three consecutive days of holidays on Saturday, Sunday and Monday due to the Christmas festival, New Year & more. Hence, many citizens have come out in large numbers for tourism. As many of them are going for celebration in Goa to welcome the New Year, there has been a huge traffic jam in Khambatki Ghat for the past few hours. As the engines of many vehicles got hot due to waiting for a long time in traffic queues.

Since schools and colleges are on holiday, many people have gone out to welcome the Christmas, New Year. Some of these citizens have gone to tourist spots around Kolhapur and some to Goa. There is a large number of vehicles on this Pune Bangalore route since this morning.

Queues of vehicles have been forming in the famous Khambatki Ghat for the past few hours. Due to the traffic jam, many vehicles are moving very slowly and hence, the citizens are stuck. As the vehicles have to be started and stopped, due to traffic , engines have become hot and vehicles have stopped. This has further added to the traffic congestion.

There are queues of vehicles on both sides of this ghat. The police have been trying to solve this dilemma for the past few hours. However, the vehicle is moving at a slow speed. Citizens and commuters are frustrated due to vehicle queues.
