Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar asserted that the work of Swargate to Katraj Metro should be planned to start soon, once the central government approves the route, the funds from the state government’s share will be made available immediately.

As per further information, he was speaking at a meeting held regarding traffic congestion on Metro route at Nagar Road. Industries Minister Uday Samant, MLA Sunil Tingre, Bhimrao Tapkir, Pune Municipal Commissioner Vikram Kumar, Collector Dr Rajesh Deshmukh, PMRDA Commissioner Rahul Mahiwal, Pune Zilla Parishad Chief Executive Officer Ramesh Chavan, Pune Municipal Corporation Additional Commissioner Vikas Dhakane etc were present.

Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar said that for the Swargate to Katraj metro line, necessary approvals will be pursued at the central government level. Stations on this metro line should be equipped with modern facilities. It should be considered to provide metro line facility from Ramwadi to Airport. Speed ​​up the works of roads and bridges on Nagar Road to remove traffic congestion. Land acquisition of Sangamwadi to Kharadi road should be expedited. Action should be taken to remove encroachments in the area. He directed that the police department should ensure that there is no traffic jam in this area.

Minister Uday Samant said that action should be taken to repair potholes on city roads immediately. Necessary measures should be taken to avoid traffic congestion on this route.

In the meeting, Shravan Hardikar, Managing Director of Maha Metro, while talking to Deputy Chief Minister Pawar over the phone, informed about the progress of Swargate to Katraj metro line. The route proposal is pending with the Public Investment Board for final approval. He said that soon after it is approved, it will be approved by the Union Cabinet, after which the work on this route will be started.
