IISER Pune Faculty Members Recognised with Top Honours at CRSI National Symposium

Three faculty members from the Chemistry department of IISER Pune received prestigious awards from the Chemical Research Society of India (CRSI) for the year 2025, in recognition of their research achievements. The awards were presented on July 4, 2025, during the 35th CRSI National Symposium in Chemistry held at IIT Gandhinagar.

Prof. Pinaki Talukdar was awarded the C. N. R. Rao National Prize and Prof. Nirmalya Ballav received the CRSI Bronze Medal. Prof. K. N. Ganesh (IISER Pune Founder Director and adjunct faculty member, presently at JNCASR, Bengaluru), was presented with the CRSI Gold Medal. This prestigious honour reflects his high eminence and outstanding lifetime contribution to chemistry research.

Prof. Talukdar’s research group works on designing functional molecules for diverse applications in chemistry and biology.
