National Consumer Helpline: Online shopping frauds continue to top the list of complaints in India, with as many as 8,919 cases reported recently. If you’ve faced a similar issue, you too can file a complaint and potentially get a refund.

If you’ve been cheated while shopping online or if your money is stuck, there’s no need to panic. Thanks to the National Consumer Helpline (NCH), refunds worth ₹7.14 crore have been processed for consumers over the past two months alone! A large share of these refunds came from complaints related to e-commerce platforms.

E-commerce sector sees the highest complaints
In the last two months, the National Consumer Helpline successfully resolved 15,426 complaints related to refund claims. Among these, the highest number—8,919 complaints—were linked to the e-commerce sector, resulting in refunds worth ₹3.69 crore. These figures highlight just how effectively the helpline is working.

Here’s how you can file a complaint if you’ve been cheated:

  • Toll-free number: Call 1915 to register your complaint in any of 17 languages.
  • Online portal (INGRAM): File your complaint online through the Integrated Grievance Redressal Mechanism (INGRAM) at consumerhelpline.gov.in.
  • Other options: You can also submit complaints via WhatsApp, SMS, email, the NCH mobile app, or the UMANG app.

The helpline plays a vital role in resolving consumer grievances quickly and effectively, also helping reduce the burden on consumer courts under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.

What is the National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission (NCDRC)?
